If you have just one day in the capital, here is a route you can do on foot and by car.
Morning: the old town
Start with the Upper Town and the Trinity Suburb: cosy streets, cafés and views of the Svisloch. Nearby is the Island of Tears, a memorial to soldiers who died abroad.
Day: the centre and parks
- Victory Square and Gorky Central Park.
- The National Library: a rhombicuboctahedron-shaped building with an observation deck inside.
- Independence Avenue, the main street of the city.
Evening: out of town
If you still have time and energy, drive to the Mound of Glory or the Stalin Line: they are not far from the ring road.
Convenient with a rental car
You can pick up a car at our office near Vostok metro from 09:00 to 20:00 free of charge. Any economy class car will do for city trips, and for a weekend out of town you can take something roomier.
